When I walk into a conference like WEFTEC, I’m reminded that progress in the water sector doesn’t just happen in labs or boardrooms — it happens in hallways, over coffee, and on the exhibitor floor.
Conferences are where ideas get tested in real time. They’re where technologies stop being buzzwords and start becoming practical solutions that we can see and touch. They’re where partnerships form — sometimes in scheduled meetings, sometimes in chance conversations (and sometimes even in the ladies’ room!).
Over the years, I’ve walked into countless conference centers — from my very first WEFTEC as a Severn Trent Services employee in 2000 to ACE25 where our agency launched a rebrand and met with a record number of clients, prospects, partners and editors. Each show has reinforced the same truth for me: the water sector is resilient, evolving, and full of possibility.
This year, our team is especially focused on helping water brands pause and take stock through what we’re calling Momentum Checks. Just like a utility runs diagnostics on its system, a Momentum Check is a quick way to see what’s working, what isn’t, and what opportunities you might be missing.
If you’re heading to WEFTEC, join me in trying to slow down just a bit to use the frenetic conference week not just to absorb, but to reflect. What momentum are you carrying into your 2026 planning? What bottlenecks are slowing you down? And how can the connections you make at the conference help you move forward faster?
For me, that’s the real excitement of showing up at a conference — meeting the people who are making a difference in water – with technologies, services, innovations – and helping teams find clarity, alignment, and a sense of shared movement.
If you want to connect in Chicago to talk about your water brand; reflect on where it’s been and where it’s going, schedule your Momentum Check here.
Peace,
Beth
